Italy beat Hungary 2-0 in the capital, Budapest, on Monday in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals

The two goals for the European champions, absent from the Qatar 2022 World Cup for the second time in a row, were scored by Napoli striker Giacomo Rasbadori (27) and Inter’s Federico Demarco (52).

The result sees Italy top Group C with 11 points, one point ahead of Hungary, to join the Netherlands and Croatia, pending completion of the box on Tuesday after facing Spain and Portugal.

Germany and England bid farewell to a draw

In another match, England and Germany left the tournament with a 3-3 draw at Wembley Stadium.

The English goals were scored by Luke Shaw (71), Mason Mount (75) and Harry Kane (83 from the penalty spot), while the Germans Kai Haverts (67 and 87) and Ilkay Gundogan (52) scored.

As a result, the German national team finished their campaign in third place in Group C with six points, while England were bottom of the table with three points.
