Dolores Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, said her grandson was better than the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at the same age and that he was destined to follow in his father’s footsteps by playing for Sporting. Dolores Aveiro’s dream is to see them both playing together for the Portuguese club.
It is a mother’s dream, but also a grandmother’s dream. In an interview with Portuguese magazine Nova Gente, Dolores Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, said she hoped more than anything to see the Manchester United player and her offspring, Cristianinho, playing for Sporting Portugal at the same time.
“At his age, he plays better than his father! Cristiano’s successor is Cristianinho,” said Dolores Aveiro of her 12-year-old grandson. He’s already said he wants to live in Lisbon and play for Sporting, if they both went there, that would be my dream. If the wishes of a mother and grandmother are fulfilled, one of her children will join Sporting very soon.”
CR7’s return to Sporting:
“This year or next year it will happen
Dolores Aveiro’s dream could have come true as early as this summer, when her son was desperate for a way out at Manchester United. While there was no rush to sign CR7, the Sporting option came up again, particularly at the end of the summer. But the Portuguese finally stayed in England.
“A return to Sporting could happen, but not now. This wasn’t the year for it, but next year it could be,” said the mother of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. This year or next year it will happen, God willing! I have already explained to him: ‘Son, before I die, I want to see you again in a Sporting shirt’. A return of the Portuguese to his parent club would be a great story. And not only from his mother’s point of view.
